A certified master builder, Tom has 20 years of experience as a general contractor in all types of construction – from speculative entry and executive to custom residential and multi-family building, commercial tenant improvements and remodeling projects.

Tom started his career in construction at the age of 14. After working for Scott Miller, the owner of The Golden Hammer in Portland, Tom gained the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain his contractor’s license when he was just 17 years old.

He then went on to work for Dan Anderson of Dan Anderson Homes. It is during this time that Tom says he learned the most about building houses. Under Dan’s tutelage, he became an expert on all aspects of production building.

Tom started Taliesin Homes Northwest after serving as vice president of premier residential construction company, Sequoia Custom Homes. With Sequoia Custom Homes, Tom helped build several award-winning homes, including the Fire and Ice House in the 2004 Street of New Beginnings. Tom has also served as a State Director for the Oregon Home Builder’s Association and currently teaches construction management courses at the Northwest College of Construction.

Since starting Taliesin Homes Northwest, Tom has been involved in building homes in various communities across the Portland metropolitan area’s East side – from the rolling hillsides of Happy Valley to the wooded setting of Sandy.

Drawing heavily on his years of experience supervising the construction of hundreds of homes, Tom’s top priority is, and always has been, building the highest quality home possible.
